BEHIND THE SCENES - SHORT DOCUMENTARY

Difficulty: Advanced
Objective
This assignment demonstrates a student’s ability to make creative decisions and demonstrate technical skills in an edit when editing a large amount of raw footage. This is a difficult and comprehensive assignment. It could serve as a semester final or major class project.
Points to emphasize
Watch all the clips before you start editing. There are 84 individual clips comprising nearly 13 minutes of raw footage.
We suggest adding your sound bites to the timeline first. This will create the structure for the story. Then go back in the edit and add natural sound breaks and b-roll.
Complete your sound mix and color correction last.
Equipment: Computer, editing software, headphones
ASSIGNMENT
Edit the raw footage into a short documentary, 2-3 minutes in length that gives viewers a behind the scenes look into the production of a shooting a music video during the pandemic.
