Video Scavenger Hunt
For: Groups of Two
Difficulty: Beginner
Objective
Upon completion of this lesson, students will demonstrate the ability to shoot sequences and will familiarize themselves with future shooting locations in your school building.
Points to emphasize
Watch the lighting because it will change dramatically as students navigate the halls of your school.
It’s not just about gathering shots of the listed items. Sequences are required.
Hold shots, on a tripod, for 8-10 seconds.
Equipment: One camera, one tripod per group
Assignment
Each team will shoot items from a list (see example below), in the order they appear on that list. Teams should shoot wide, medium, and tight shots of each item.
Possible list of items for the Scavenger Hunt:
Sign
Trophy
Decal
Banner
Locker
Clocks
NOTE: To avoid groups following each other from item to item consider staggering shoot times, handing out lists of different items, or scrambling the order of items on the lists. Also consider scouting unique, hard-to-find items and placing them at the end of the list to keep the assignment challenging.
BONUS: Add some competition to the assignment and make it a race to bring back the finished product first.
