The following exercises and assignments use footage from the National Audio raw footage packs. Teachers can access the raw footage files in the “Download” tab above. Students can download the raw footage files from the student page.

Students use the supplied raw footage pack and build three multi-shot sequences out of a variety of b-roll.

In this fun and challenging exercise, students watch an edit of the National Audio VO/SOT and try to recreate the edit using the same raw footage.

Students use b-roll and a pre-recorded voice over to construct and industrial style video demonstrating the process of creating cassette tapes.

Difficulty: Beginner
Groups: 1-2

Students choose a sound bite, write a voice over introducing the sound bite, and cover the voice over with relevant b-roll.

Difficulty: Intermediate
Groups: 1-2

Students use the b-roll and sound bites from the raw footage pack but add their own reporter voice over based on a list of provided facts.
